v0.4.1 Pick reference images straight from your canvas, in a faster, smoother app
Adding reference images just got much faster: everywhere Artyx asks for a reference image, you can now pick one already on your canvas instead of re-uploading it. This release also makes the app noticeably quicker to launch and smoother to work in, and fixes generated images showing up twice in your asset sidebar.
01 What's new
-
Pick reference images from your workspace
Anywhere you add a reference image — the Artyx Agent chat, per-image quick actions, multi-image derives, and the retexture style reference — you now get one combined panel: drop, paste, or upload a file, plus a grid of every image already on your canvas. Pick one you already have instead of re-uploading, and images you've already added are greyed out so you can't add them twice.
-
Faster startup and a smoother canvas
Artyx now launches significantly faster and stays smoother while you pan, zoom, and work, thanks to a broad performance pass. It also uses less power when left sitting idle.
-
Generated images no longer duplicate
Images created by the Artyx Agent now appear only once in your asset sidebar instead of showing up twice.
02 Where to find it
- 01
To add a reference image in the Artyx Agent chat, click the image (+) button in the chat box.
A panel opens with an upload area on top and a grid of your canvas images below — click any image to attach it.
- 02
When deriving from an existing image, open its quick-run composer and click the image button to pick references the same way.
You can add up to three references; images you've already picked are greyed out.
- 03
For a retexture style reference, click ADD on the style row and choose an image from the same panel.
Picking from your workspace avoids re-uploading an image you already have.
