Workspace Launcher and Settings get a fresh redesign
This release gives Artyx a cleaner first impression with a redesigned Workspace Launcher and Settings screen, plus a new floating Agent chat panel. It also includes smoother canvas performance and a batch of fixes for 3D, windows, and canvas behavior that make the app feel more reliable day to day.
Release highlights
What’s new
-
Fresh two-pane launcher
The start screen now shows your projects as preview thumbnails beside a matching sidebar. Because the thumbnails capture just the canvas, it’s easier to spot the right project at a glance.
-
Settings now match the home screen
The Settings page has been redesigned into the same two-pane layout as the launcher. Controls are grouped more clearly, which should make it easier to find what you need.
-
Agent chat floats on canvas
The Artyx Agent chat now appears as a floating panel over the canvas instead of feeling like a separate space. The input has been simplified so you can start typing faster.
-
Canvas feels lighter and smoother
The app now does less unnecessary work when the canvas is sitting idle, which should help reduce background CPU use. It also avoids a freeze when lots of node menus load in and out while you scroll.
-
More fixes across 3D and windows
This release fixes several annoying issues, including unclickable top-bar buttons, missing window controls on Windows and Linux, and problems with some 3D and derived image workflows.
In the app
Where to find it
- 01
Open Artyx to see the new Workspace Launcher.
Your projects now appear as thumbnail cards in a two-pane layout, with a glass-style sidebar on the side.
- 02
Click a project from the Open or Recent area.
Both views now share the same preview thumbnails, so it should be easier to pick up where you left off.
- 03
Collapse the sidebar if you want more canvas space.
A minimap stays visible when the sidebar is collapsed, and there’s a collapse arrow on the workspace sidebar.
- 04
Open Settings from the top bar.
Settings now use the same two-pane layout as the home screen, with controls arranged in a top icon row.
- 05
Open the Agent chat from the canvas area.
The chat now floats over the canvas and uses a simpler input box.
- 06
If you work in 3D, open the viewer from a model workspace.
The 3D viewer has been reorganized into a calmer control panel and texture modal, and the "View in 3D" hint should now be readable in light mode.
